Farmhouse Bedroom Inspirations and Shopping List

10:53 AM

I have been slowly adding farmhouse inspired pieces and design into my home one room at a time. The one room I have left (for the most part) is the bedroom. I really became inspired to make this room as bright as possible because it is the darkest room in our home. It barely gets any sun even on the sunniest of days. I originally went with the reliable yellow and gray theme because I thought it would be the brightest choice, however, I am really tired of looking at the same colors so...I'm changing it up a bit.

Right now, I don't have much done. I have purchased a few new pillow covers (big surprise there!) and a new duvet cover. The room instantly looks different and brighter. I could stop there, but where's the fun in that?

My Inspirations

1. I love this duvet set. I also love the way the nightstand is styled. (source)

2. Oh, those pillows! I have a huge crush on's more like an obsession, but they are adorable. (source)

3. I love the look of anything vintage and this clock and old book combo would absolutely be perfect for a nightstand. We honestly don't use them other than to put our phones on at night anyway so this wouldn't get in the way. (source)

4. There's something about boxwood that I love. It's not because it's trendy either. I think it has a lot to do with the way it looks in general. That shade of green is amazing, too! (source)

4. Drop cloth curtains are one of my favorite looks of the farmhouse trend. I am still unsure if this will make it into the final look of our bedroom mostly because I am not sure how it will look on our recessed, short windows, but here they are. (source)

5. I like this bedding, but what I'm really featuring here are the botanical prints above the bed. I love the light shade of green and their vintage vibe. These would look great hanging on either side of our windows. (source)
