Simple Meal Prepping: Smoothies

12:00 AM

Whether you eat smoothies because their healthy or because they're just plain delicious, you'll want to make sure that the fruit going into your smoothie is fresh. Simple prepping won't take up too much time and helps to keep your fruit lasting longer.

Start off with cleaning and gathering all of the fruit that you will want to prep.

What I prep include:

  • Fresh Strawberries
  • Fresh Blueberries
  • Bananas
  • Pineapple (I use crushed canned pineapple.)
  • Mango (Not pictured.)

I like to make one smoothie at a time so these snack zipper bags are perfect to fit my fruit. It cuts down on the actual smoothie prep time and eliminates excuses not to make one!

Below I have listed how I portion each fruit. Please note that a single serving is 1/4 cup bags so if you like to make 2 smoothies at once, you can easily fit 1/2 cup of fruit in each bag but no more than that.

Blueberry, Mango and Pineapple Portioning:
Single Serving Size -1/4 cup blueberries and pineapple into each bag.

Strawberry Portioning:
Single Serve Size: 3 sliced strawberries per bag.

Banana Portioning:
Single Serving Size: 1/2 banana, sliced.

This is the final outcome. I then placed these bags inside of a large freezer bag to keep them together. You could also use a bin if you wanted to. Now you have your fruit at your fingertips for quick on-the-go smoothies!

 Stay in the loop!

    1. Kale freezes very well and it is something that I do as soon as I buy it because it goes bad fast in the fridge. Simply put it in a freezer bag and grab what you need! :)
