How To Create Printables12:51 PM
I've been making printables for my blog from the beginning. I love creating different ones for projects, holidays or simple decor. On many blogging groups and forums I see people asking how to make them. Creating a printable that can easily be downloaded by your viewers can be a little tricky and there are many different places on the web to make them. Today, I'm going to share with you how I do it. I've found that it doesn't take up much time this way.
First I start off by brainstorming a design or idea for a printable. I'm going to make one for Valentine's Day as an example. I either use Canva or PicMonkey or a combination of the two. For those of you who are unaware of one or both of these online tools, here's the scoop.
PicMonkey is a great, free online resource for creating and editing photos and images. It also works well for adding water marks to your blog images. It gives you the option to choose your own fonts from your computer and allows you to crop and edit in different filters and even gives you a wide selection of overlays. These are basically stickers you can use to create a personalized image.
Canva is another free online resource that gives you so many different size options and image choices. I find this site is better for creating images rather than editing photos. There are many different options to choose from but they do not give access to your computer's fonts. It also doesn't have a crop option. (At least not one I've noticed I like.) Canva is amazing for two reasons, though. They offer different layouts to choose from for inspiration and they allow you to save your project in image or PDF form which is how we get our printables in a downloadable file!
Using PicMonkey, I created a simple Valentine's Day printable pictured below.
