Holiday Recap: My 4th of July

7:12 PM

This week was fairly uneventful. Our city holds fireworks 3 days in a row. Yeah, 3 days! We normally just hang out until they start. That's what we did on the 1st. I stayed home on the 2nd with anticipations of going to bed early. Instead, we watched the fireworks from my house. I didn't know I had such a good view of them until that night. I was pretty pumped about that. We had no plans for the 4th of July this year. Normally, there's a BBQ. Hurricane Arthur had other ideas.

Instead, we had an impromptu get-together in my mother's back yard. Some burgers, hot dogs and all that jazz kind of made up for the fact that we were going to be spending our 4th indoors. The kids got to run around and we even had some fireworks to light off. In our area it's legal.

We've been inside all day while it rains and pours. We have bouts of thunderstorms here and there, but the cool breeze coming in my window right now from the rain can't be beat. I guess that's a plus of a rainy summer day. Especially since yesterday was a hot, humid, 90 degree day! I do have to say, that while I've been inside wasting the day away, I'm okay with that. It gives me time to catch up on my R&R and spend time with my family.

Here's a few pictures of my holiday. The first picture is of my daughter's hair. I had to do something festive and patriotic. I think this came out so cute and I'm proud of myself because I thought it was going to end up a disaster. I'll try to do a tutorial on how it's done sometime in the future.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope your 4th of July was fun and safe!
